We’re a post-modern, contemporary dance company, based in Davis, California since 1985. While a great deal of our work happens in our home theater, we’re also at work in the community! In addition to traditional concert work, we often make surprise appearances in public, and create site-specific work for community events.

Our mission is to redefine dance as an active art form and integral part of the human experience for all ages including a diverse range of individuals from the highly technically trained to those who have never danced before. We believe in dance and multiple art forms as tools for physical and mental well-being, academic enrichment, and to support a thriving and connected community.

Our community outreach programs include our Dance for Parkinson's program (which we do in affiliation with the Mark Morris Dance Group, providing free classes for people with Parkinson's and their caregivers), our Second Wind dance program (providing free classes for adults 65 and older), and KORE program for school-age children ages 6 - 12 years old. (Kinesthetic, Organic, Rigorous Education which focuses on academic enrichment in reading and writing using movement and visual arts. We often call this Moving Words; The Duet of Writing & Dance)

And, because we believe that dance is for all people of all ages, we have several companies under our umbrella: The Pamela Trokanski Dance Theatre, the PTDT Apprentice Company, The Third Stage, and our newest sister company, Light Ballet Company.

Thank You!
We’re deeply grateful for our community’s support on last year's Big Day of Giving. Thank you to everyone who helped us raise over $11,300 which, in turn, supported all of our community outreach programs over the last year (2023-2024). This year, you helped us $2,432 over our goal of $12,000! The $14,432 you helped us raise will help us continue to grow and expand our community programs in our 2024 - 2025 season.
