Season 37 ran from Fall 2020 through Spring 2021, while we were still pretty much in Stay-at-home-Covid mode. The fall premiered an online video called Still Life/ Life Still and featured multiple short dances seen as if you were walking through an art gallery and clicking on different pictures, each with their own quote. Something for the Holidays had dancers recording pieces in their own homes and, as a company, outdoors in the parking lot of the Dance Workshop. The Davis Dance Project that year was another video that brought multiple community groups together answering the question: What Makes Davis, Davis? Which they did by shooting their own movement videos set to music that were then edited into one long flow.
Our final project that season was the premiere of Meanwhile, basically an exploration of how life continued to progress even during a pandemic.
