Season 38 ran from fall 2021 through spring 2022, while we were still dealing with a pandemic and the sometimes changing rules of appropriate social behaviors during such a time as well as the cultural shifts that were happening. The fall concert premiered Bumperstickers, and explored the ways people choose to work together or not, or respect the belief systems of others, or not, and ultimately explored a quote by Darwin: "it is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that
survives; but the species that survives is the one that is best able to adapt and adjust
to the changing environment in which it finds itself."

The Spring concert premiered The Illusion of Time, which explored exactly that.
Davis Dance Project that year was the beginning of a compilation of how Davis community groups had survived two years of a pandemic by working together.
